Sports & Sponsorship

Team Bath and Rengen, whose CEO Iestyn Lewis is a University of Bath alumnus, have teamed up for an exciting partnership designed to support health and sports activities at the University. This exciting new arrangement under the Rengen brand comes in addition to the support already given to the University’s annual rugby Anniversary Game and the recent endowment of a sports scholarship by Lewis, a former University rugby coach.Funds from this corporate partnership will be used to support Team Bath Netball’s performances in the 2020 Vitality Netball Superleague and the University’s rugby team in the BUCS Super Rugby league. The University is also working with Lewis, who previously played for Bath Rugby, and his team to look at applying the new backing on offer across its dynamic portfolio of activities in support of recreational and performance sport.

As part of our engagement with the community and wider commercial joint-venture opportunities, we continue to partner with appropriate parties to include: Sponsoring the anniversary game as part of the BUCS super rugby season, which this year sees Bath University tackle Cardiff University at the recreation ground in Bath on the 16th October. This represents 25 years of engagement by CEO, Iestyn Lewis with Bath University Rugby Team and five years as direct sponsorship for this prestigious fixture.

We are proud to announce that we have supported the Bath Rugby Foundation and formerly become a 1st XV member of that charity. Bath Rugby Foundation is Bath Rugby’s charity and their purpose is to empower vulnerable children and young people in Bath and the surrounding area to succeed. “The Bath Rugby Foundation uses the core values of rugby to help develop young people mentally and physically. By using the values of Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Teamwork and Sportsmanship their coaches encourage the children and young people we work with to develop a positive growth mindset and reach their true potential.” Every year The Foundation works with over 2500 children and young people in Bath across a number of groups to include: families, young adults, disability groups, disadvantage children, youth and community groups, charities and schools.

We have invested in the Centurion Thoroughbred brand, which is overseen by Sam Sangster as blood stock agent and Brian Meehan as trainer. This is an exciting new venture which allows us to expand our brand awareness, be a part of the Manton Stable environment, and also allows us to share this experience with our various funding and equity partners.
